How It Works

The adjustable choke valve regulates fluid flow by progressively restricting the orifice area between the stem tip and the seat. As the handwheel turns, the carbide-lined stem moves linearly, changing the gap between the stem and the seat. This creates a variable restriction that can be precisely set to any flow rate between fully open and fully closed, with a vernier scale on the handle allowing operators to return to specific set points repeatedly.

The tungsten carbide overlays on both the stem and seat provide exceptional resistance to erosion from sand, proppant, and other abrasive materials commonly encountered during fracturing operations. The Figure 1502 hammer union end connections allow the valve to be installed or replaced quickly without special tools, making it ideal for mobile wellsite service.
