Description
Top Drive Drilling Equipment (“TD”or “Top Drive”) replaces the kelly and rotary table with a powered swivel and pipe handling device, this can rotate the drilling pipe, screw and unscrew the subs, and move vertically along the guide rail.
Top Drive can rotate drilling string directly from the upper derrick and drill downwards along the guidance of a guide rail. Top Drive is stuitable for rotary drilling, mud circulation, pipe connection, make-up and break-out, back reaming and other drilling operations.
