DEENPU Hydraulic Plug Valve

Product Overview

DEENPU Hydraulic Plug Valves are purpose-built for high-pressure well service operations where remote actuation is essential for safety and efficiency. These valves utilize a cylindrical or tapered plug with a through-bore that rotates 90 degrees to open or close the flow path, providing full-bore, unobstructed flow with minimal pressure drop.

Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel forgings and equipped with DEENPU-designed hydraulic actuators, these valves deliver consistent performance under the most demanding conditions. The hydraulic actuation system allows operators to control the valve from a safe distance, making it ideal for hazardous environments such as well stimulation, flowback operations, and coiled tubing interventions.

Each DEENPU Hydraulic Plug Valve undergoes rigorous pressure testing and functional verification before shipment, ensuring field-ready reliability from day one. Available with 1002 and 1502 hammer union connections as well as DC15 end connections, our hydraulic plug valves integrate seamlessly into existing frac spreads and well service equipment packages.

How It Works

The DEENPU Hydraulic Plug Valve operates on a simple yet highly reliable principle. A precision-machined cylindrical plug with a full-bore through-passage rotates within a lapped valve body. When the plug bore aligns with the inlet and outlet ports, the valve is fully open, allowing unrestricted flow. A 90-degree rotation of the plug positions the solid portion against the seats, creating a positive, bubble-tight seal.

Actuation is achieved through a double-acting hydraulic cylinder mounted directly on the valve. Pressurized hydraulic fluid drives the piston, which converts linear motion into rotary motion through a robust rack-and-pinion or scotch-yoke mechanism. This design provides smooth, controlled operation with consistent torque output throughout the stroke.

The hydraulic system typically operates at 2,000 to 3,000 PSI control pressure and can be integrated with existing hydraulic power units (HPUs) on location. For emergency shutdown scenarios, a fail-safe spring-return option is available that automatically closes the valve upon loss of hydraulic pressure.

Key Features

Remote Hydraulic Actuation

Double-acting hydraulic actuator enables safe remote operation from the control cabin or a designated safe zone, eliminating personnel exposure to high-pressure lines during critical well service operations.

Full-Bore Design

Cylindrical plug with through-bore matching the nominal pipe size ensures unrestricted flow with negligible pressure drop, making these valves ideal for high-rate frac and flowback applications.

Compact & Reliable

Space-efficient design integrates the actuator directly onto the valve body, minimizing overall footprint while maximizing structural rigidity and operational reliability in tight wellsite layouts.

NACE Sour Service Ready

Available in NACE MR0175-compliant materials for hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) environments. All pressure-containing and pressure-controlling components meet the stringent hardness and metallurgical requirements for sour gas service.

Multi-Size Range

Available in 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″ sizes with 1002, 1502, and DC15 end connections to match existing piping and manifold configurations across all major well service equipment brands.

Forged Body Construction

Valve bodies are machined from high-strength alloy steel forgings, providing superior grain structure and mechanical properties compared to cast alternatives for maximum pressure integrity and fatigue resistance.

Why Choose DEENPU Hydraulic Plug Valves

Proven Hydraulic Actuator Design

Our in-house designed hydraulic actuators have been field-proven across thousands of well stimulation and flowback operations worldwide, delivering consistent, trouble-free performance under continuous cycling conditions.

Rigorous Testing Protocol

Every hydraulic plug valve undergoes a comprehensive test sequence: shell test at 1.5x rated working pressure, seat test at rated working pressure, and full functional cycling test of the hydraulic actuator under load.

Global Spare Parts Availability

DEENPU maintains an extensive inventory of replacement seals, seat kits, and actuator rebuild components. Same-day shipping on critical spare parts keeps your operations running with minimal downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

What hydraulic pressure is required to operate the valve?
DEENPU hydraulic plug valve actuators are designed to operate with standard hydraulic power unit (HPU) output pressures of 2,000 to 3,000 PSI (13.8 to 20.7 MPa). The specific control pressure requirement depends on valve size and working pressure rating. Our 15,000 PSI valves typically require 2,500 PSI control pressure for full-stroke operation under maximum differential pressure conditions.

Can I use the hydraulic plug valve in sour gas service?
Yes. DEENPU offers all hydraulic plug valve sizes in NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant configurations for sour service. These valves feature controlled-hardness materials (maximum HRC 22 for the body and plug, per NACE requirements), H₂S-resistant elastomers, and NACE-compliant bolting materials. Please specify “sour service” when ordering to receive the correctly configured valve.

What is the typical cycle life of the hydraulic actuator?
DEENPU hydraulic actuators are designed for a minimum of 10,000 full-stroke cycles under rated conditions before requiring seal replacement. Actual cycle life depends on operating frequency, environmental conditions, and maintenance practices. We recommend annual seal and bearing inspections for valves in continuous service and actuator rebuild kits are available for field-level maintenance.

Are spare parts and seal kits readily available?
Absolutely. DEENPU maintains a comprehensive inventory of genuine OEM spare parts including plug assemblies, seat kits, seal kits, actuator rebuild kits, and hydraulic cylinder components. Most standard items ship within 24 hours of order receipt. We recommend stocking critical spare kits on location for high-utilization operations.

What certifications are available with the valve?
Standard documentation includes Material Test Reports (MTRs), hydrostatic test certificates, functional test reports, and a Certificate of Conformance. Upon request, we can provide third-party inspection (API Q1 / ISO 9001), NACE compliance certificates, NDE reports (MPI, UT), and country-specific certification packages for import compliance.

Can the actuator be field-converted from double-acting to spring-return?
While the valve body and plug assembly are common between double-acting and spring-return configurations, the actuator assembly itself is model-specific. We do not recommend field conversion due to the precision assembly requirements. Spring-return valves should be ordered as a complete assembly. However, DEENPU can provide spring-return conversion kits with detailed procedures for qualified service centers.
