Each DEENPU swivel joint features a precision ball bearing design that allows smooth, continuous 360-degree rotation around one or more axes. The advanced ball bearing system minimizes friction, reduces wear, and maximizes load capacity while maintaining tight seal integrity under full rated pressure. The heavy wall thickness under the ball races provides additional erosion allowance at the critical wear zone without sacrificing flow bore diameter.

A key design advantage of DEENPU swivel joints is the uniform bore diameter maintained throughout the entire swivel assembly. Unlike conventional swivels with abrupt changes in internal diameter, the DEENPU design ensures a smooth, consistent flow path from inlet to outlet. How It Works

DEENPU swivel joints consist of a male and female body section connected by a precision ball bearing race assembly. The ball bearings permit relative rotation between the two body sections while maintaining alignment of the internal flow bore. A field-proven packing system with an anti-extrusion ring provides the dynamic seal that contains pressure while allowing rotation.

When the swivel joint is rotated, the ball bearings roll within the precisely machined races, carrying the radial and axial loads while minimizing friction. The bearing geometry is optimized to distribute loads evenly across the race surfaces, preventing point loading and extending bearing life. The bearing housing is protected by an environmental O-ring seal that excludes dirt, sand, and corrosive fluids from the critical bearing surfaces.

Swivel joints are installed at strategic points in well service piping and manifold systems where flexibility is needed. Style 10 – Single Plane (M x M)

Style 10 swivels provide rotation in a single plane with male x male end connections. This is the most common style for straight-line piping where alignment adjustment is needed in one direction. The U-bend configuration shown in the product image above is a typical Style 10 application.

Style 20 – Single Plane (F x F)

Style 20 swivels provide single-plane rotation with female x female end connections. Ideal for connecting between female-threaded components or for creating a female termination point in a piping system.

Style 30 – Single Plane (M x F)

Style 30 swivels provide single-plane rotation with male x female end connections. This style is commonly used as a transition piece between male and female components in a manifold assembly.

Style 50 – Two Planes

Style 50 swivels provide rotation in two perpendicular planes, offering greater flexibility for complex piping layouts. Two-plane swivels are ideal for connecting equipment that may move in multiple directions during operation.

Style 60 – Three Planes

Style 60 swivels provide rotation in three planes, delivering maximum flexibility for intricate manifold configurations and applications requiring multi-directional alignment compensation.

Style 80 – Four Planes

Material & Dimensional Inspection

Pressure Testing

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should the packing be replaced?
Packing replacement frequency depends on operating pressure, rotation frequency, and service fluid characteristics. In typical well service applications with moderate rotation cycles, DEENPU packing should be inspected every 6 months and replaced annually. For high-frequency rotation applications such as pump truck connections, more frequent inspection (every 3 months) is recommended. Signs that packing replacement is needed include increased leakage at the swivel joint, increased rotation resistance, or visible wear on the packing material. Can swivel joints be used in sour gas service?
DEENPU swivel joints can be configured for sour gas service with appropriate material selection and packing specifications. For H2S environments, we recommend specifying NACE MR0175 compliant materials with controlled hardness (maximum HRC 22 for pressure-containing components) and H2S-resistant packing materials (FFKM or specialized HNBR formulations). Standard swivel joints are manufactured from AISI 4130/4140 alloy steel with HNBR packing, which is suitable for most standard well service applications. What is the difference between a Style 10 and a Style 50 swivel?
Style 10 swivels provide rotation in a single plane (360 degrees around one axis), while Style 50 swivels provide rotation in two perpendicular planes. Style 10 is the most common configuration for simple alignment adjustment, such as connecting a pump truck to a wellhead manifold where the connection needs to rotate in one direction. Style 50 is used when the piping needs to flex in two directions, such as connecting equipment that may shift or vibrate in multiple axes. The style number corresponds to the number of rotation planes: Style 10 (1 plane), Style 50 (2 planes), Style 60 (3 planes), and Style 80 (4 planes).
